Ao no Exorcist

I was first introduced to the difference between anime and cartoons in fifth grade. I didn’t really understand it, and there wasn’t anyone who got the difference either, so I angrily denied its existence mockingly as people who suddenly wanted to be mature and grown up would call cartoons anime as though they were now justifying how watching cartoons as “adults”.

Only when I was in seventh grade did I begin to understand how anime is different from cartoons and acknowledge it as its own thing. Sure, there are some major exceptions there where in my head Pokemon, Dragon Ball Z, and Beyblade just don’t count as anime. It’s only because I saw them aired first hand when I was little and watched all of it understanding that they were cartoons.

But nonetheless, come seventh grade, I gave it a chance. And clearly, I liked a lot of what I saw. From what I remember, Ao no Exorcist is one of those beginner must sees of anime, and I think I started it in the summer vacation of seventh grade or something like the beginning of eighth. Either way, I loved it and it was one of those binge watches where I started midday, watched like most of the show and then continued watching the next morning after I slept. But I felt like I’d watched it too quickly- that I had breezed through it. I wanted to savour it more. So even though I was already on episode 21 (out of 25), I came to a sudden halt.

I don’t remember perfectly well what happened after I decided that I would watch one episode per day until I finished it, but I never did. And I never went back to it either. Don’t get me wrong- I didn’t forget about it. I thought about it loads. It’s always one of the first anime that come to mind when I get bored, feel like watching something old, feel like finishing something I haven’t, etc etc.

And approximately five or six years later, I have. I started from episode 15 with only the intent to finish it, but after so long…I didn’t want to cheat myself out of some serious enjoyment again. I went back, watched from episode one on to- the last one.

This post isn’t here as a place for me to blab my thoughts and reactions of that ending at all. It’s just here to say I did finish it. And now I shall loop the openings for this classic anime as I search up pictures I like of it ❤

Anime Recommendation Accomplishment

Yesterday I managed to finally complete a task I have been working on on and off for more than two years (or has it been three..?) and the reality of the situation is hitting me now.

So regardless of how I am completely aware that my brother isn’t an anime fanatic like me, he does watch the odd one or two anime. Which is why whenever I fall in love with one, I always tell him if I think he’ll like it or not when I rave about it to him (because that shall inevitably happen). Aaaand so I started Fairytail like two years ago and was head over heels for it. I watched nothing but that anime for most of the winter break and I almost caught up to the show. (Quite the feat considering how it had 175 episodes out then. This is also when Fairytail was put on hiatus. When I found out that, I abruptly stopped at somewhere around ep 90-something.)

Anyways, ever since I started it, I told my brother, Que, to watch it. But he’s neverrr, not once, tried it! Sure, it being Fairytail, he’s heard of it, and scene pictures of it, but he hasn’t tried it at all.

Yesterday he started it. And he likes it!

There’s a huge deal of satisfaction involved when a suggestion or recommendations is taken both seriously and then becomes loved by the one you recommended it to. Which is the mellow version of how smug and accomplished I feel right now :3

It might even be possible that once we start discussing the episodes he’s seen, I’ll want to revisit this anime and continue off where I was. But, gosh, that’s a looot to catch up on…at least it’s better than DC, huh?

Ze One Punch Man Ending

I know I’m a few days late (my pll binge is a total obsession),

but I just finished One Punch Man!

But before I get to the actual final episode I just saw, there’s the anime in general to discuss. Like it’s totally unique art style.

There’s Saitama, the simple guy with apparently two faces?

And then Genos, the cyborg most commonly mistaken to be stronger than Saitama. HAH.

There’s a reason Genos spent so much time trying to convince Saitama to be his shishou.

THAT LINE THOUGH. When in the after credit scene (yes, there is indeed one. Go watch it now. Spoiler Alert!) Genos answere’s the useless monster’s question of who’s there with “The Strongest Man in the world…and his disciple.” I was dying. It was such a great moment!

BUT THE ENDING- UGGGGHHHH.

Why did it have to be so so….inconclusive? Saitama isn’t given credit for saving the world (again), defeating the Dominator of the Universe, or ranked S-class even! At least there are a few people that have acknowledged his strength throughout the show…But it’s still not enough :Y

(I mean, even when City whatever was almost completely destroyed by that sea creature king, and Saitama was the one to defeat and save everyone, he didn’t take any of the credit. Hell, he made sure the public saw him as a cheat of a hero since he wanted the other heroes who fought so hard and were defeated so easily to have been taken seriously since he defeated the beast, naturally, with only one punch.)

Then there’s the Genos thing. Some other S-rank robot guy told him that Metal Knight was his “enemy”. Upon hearing that, I instantly thought of how Genos is hunting down the cyborg that went rogue and plundered his home and terminated his family. But they didn’t address it, even when Metal Knight showed up late to the party!

Then there’s the cases of the other S-class heroes. I wanna know more about theeeem! I wanna know about Metal Knight, Child Emperor, and especiallyyyy Mr. Metal Bat Thug. (When stupid rank 1 of the A-class heroes shows up at the end from his drama shoot, (shoot indeed -.- ) he really shines as a wonderful character to me.) We still haven’t seen rank 1. Rank 2, Tornado, hasn’t acknowledged Saitama yet. BRAT, how dare you. Even though once you do, you’ll be kinda cool. So do it alreeeaadyyy!

Pfffff, they better give this an OVA or a special to tie up these loose ends. I mean, I’d love there to be a second season, and there’s definitely enough hype and popularity for there to be one, but I don’t want the series to get messed up with a not-so-great second season if they can finish things up well in some episodes less than that. Time to go on the look out for information on any of this! Maybe manga reading time if not…?4

Clearly, there aren’t a lot of seinen anime I watch, but I bothered to try and stick to this because I loved it ❤

Anyhoo, it’s time I say night and get in bed. (I say that as though I’m not already typing this while sitting in it.)

Aoharu x Kikanjuu

I’m attempting to get better at being flexible with my anime, so I decided that I would try simultaneously to binge a completed anime like Sailor Moon and continue to stay up to date on the current Autumn anime. But then I sorta got into a slump of watching so much Sailor Moon in a go, but there weren’t enough releasing episodes to keep me super interested, soooo I went back to this anime that I had found the picture off of anichart to look interesting!

Now after reading the kikanjuu part of the name, I did admittedly groan internally about this being a cliched military sort of gender bender, buuuut I was pleasantly surprised by the anime’s actual story line!

Hatoru was mistaken as a guy, and didn’t actually try to fool anyone, at least not at first. Still sounds pretty cliched up until now. But the machinegun thing was actually a reference to survival games- combat games where you simulate a real battle but with fake guns that shoot BB pellets. Now that’s a tad unusual, huh?

Through very valiant and idiotic means of avenging her best friend getting supposedly conned by Matsuoka, Hatoru ends up invited to play in the survival games with Matsuoka’s team, Toy Gun Gun. Yes, clearly the name strikes fear straight into any opposing team’s heart.

Though seriously, they ARE pretty dope as a team. Once Yuuki decides Hatoru is worth being friends with and saving. But then they do get to a happy teamwork state, even though Hatoru didn’t want to join at first.

To the point she had to sometimes be kidnapped for tournaments ^_^

Just kidding! But she seriously was for her first one. Way to go, Host-san- kidnapping high schoolers at six in the morning.

Now, Hatoru turns out to have a shit ton of potential for these sort of games, despite being a terrible shot. Her sense of justice keeps her sticking around until she pays off her debt (cliche alert, cliche alert!), but realizes she LOVES the games too much to not return playing them.

Time for some serious conflict~ Introducing Team Hoshishiro, the four time champions of TCG (basically the national tournament for this sport).

They’re super skilled, somewhat creepy, and dang, they like to match! But that isn’t enough for the plot. Oh no. So Midori actually has managed to psychologically traumatize Matsuoka in the past and continues to torture him whenever the two compete on the field against each other. Now that makes for a great story, don’t you think?

Hatoru becomes possessed with the purest form of bloodlust and becomes an egotistical lunatic when she’s in the zone which leads to some pretty fun and intense matches.

All in all, I started  and finished it today, and I totallyyyy loved it! I’m on the look out for a season two declaration now :3

(And yes, I realize most of this was a summary instead of me rambling/reacting to what happened, but this feels about right for this anime ^_^ )

Anyhoo, back to a hilarious musical- Star Mu, here I come~!

New Anime Started from this Season- Reviews, Picture, and Obsessions

This season’s got some seriously cool anime that’s just released. I’ve been watching and trying quite a few, and I’m loving what I’ve seen so far. Here are the names of a few I started, and what I think of them so far. Whether I plan on continuing them or not, some picture, and a few that are just so damn ADORABLE that I’m already obsessed after one episode. (I’ll get to that.)

I Akuma no Riddle- Started it, mentioned it in my last anime related post. Watching it, and I’ll finish it too, as it is only given thirteen or twelve episodes. It’s alright, and I’m mostly watching it for the action and the animation. It’s not entirely my kind of anime.

II Broken Blade/Break Blade-

Started it just a few days ago, and I’ll continue it only for the reason that it’s a mecha anime, and I’ve never really seen one before. It’s story is pretty interesting too, so yay. It’s animation is a little different from what I’m used to and prefer, but it’s not bad, it’s still actually good.

III Nobunaga the Fool-

Only seen the first episode, a bit more of mecha, and yet I like it’s fantasy story much more. It’s got a prophecy involved, a lady of shallot hearing whispers, and even THE KING ARTHUR! In a semi futuristic setting not on Earth, I am so watching this.

IV No Game No Life- Current obsession!

And I’m so glad the main dude is such a badass red head, since the one in Mouhouka Koukou no Rettousei certainly isn’t even revealed to us yet, so we can’t see his badassery… Ahem, so yeah, Sora is awesome. Love him already ❤

Badass Sora

Adorable Little Sister- Shiro

The animation to this show is superb and it’s very SAO, except so far, the two siblings actually don’t want to return home. I like that plot twist. And I can’t wait to see what happens next!! Crap, I really shouldn’t have started this anime the day before a CIE…

*poof*

Just CIE Things- and Distractions.

So.

CIE. A-levels. At university level. Eeps.

To say the least.

But I’m in the middle of my exams, and I’d like to add a few things I am currently obsessed with in different amounts. Varying from using day and night, to just to pass the time. Precious time that should not be wasted at that…

So here we go.

Anime (of course, the largest category);

I Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei

Genre- Magic, Fantasy, Action (and yet uptil now there’s been a SEVERE lack of it on Tatsuya’s part!! =Y ), School Life, Comedy, Romance, futuristic, Sci-Fi, Technology.  Some incest jokes, and implied incest.

II Black Bullet

Genre- Action (duh), has a loli (not a genre, but still must be said for some people.), some Comedy, Thriller, Post Apocalypse, End of the World Scenario, Sci-fi, Futuristic.

III Akuma no Riddle

^Whoa, that’s a huge pic =P

Genre- Yuri (lesbian content)(so far, soft, and not anything vulgar. Not even kissing so far, but it’s only been 6 episodes.), Action, Psychological, School Life, Assassins.

IV Yu-Gi-Oh!

Which one?? The FIRST one. And no, this isn’t a nostalgic I’m-gonna-watch-old-childhood-stuff-again at all. I never saw it as a kid. So on the insistence of Zaid, and many many Duel Monsters vs Yu-Gi-Oh! debates, I decided to give it a shot. No picture, because, ew, animation from 2000.

Side note V- HunterxHunter

I am now finally up to date on HxH~! Woot Woot! Only problem is, now I’m dying for the new eps *-*

On to other stuff now…Like,

VI A Korean Drama- The Bride of the Century

And now, the best scene that had me die of laughter-

Peeing Granny

^The scene where Kang Ju’s Granny peed on Doo Rim~! xD

VII Teen Wolf

Sorry, but it’s exams time. And the theme song never fails to make me burst into laughter. I mean, Scott McCaw, the flying werewolf. It’s just too damn swagtastic.

But the stories all about Stiles now <3333 AND they added Japanese stuff to it! Like characters, mythological creatures, and even the Yakuza. I mean, it’s got the Nine Tailed Fox in it. #Naruto #Kitsune

VIII New Girl

Yeaahh…I never liked it, but Exam Hype has crippled my brain and tricked it into finding it amusing currently. Weird.

IX Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt 23!

Another TV show I started, and it’s funny, despite the  jokes being just a tad too adult for my taste.

And the rest are other anime I may be starting soon, and what not.

Like Durarara!, Dragonar Academy, Letter Bee Academy, and others I’ve forgotten right now. Oi, I’m sleeeepy. Excuse enough.

So that’s my so far distraction list! I may have forgotten a few, but oh wyell. I’ll add more if they arise. I hope note. I need to study all that I can now.

Ciao~

Initial Take on Hunter x Hunter

images

Sooo I was recommended some anime (Gintama, Bleach, and nichijou), so I decided to start off with Hunter x Hunter =D (recommended to me by Darke)

Hunter_Exam_Arc

^This picture is from the first arc, the one with the Hunter Exam. Where Gon meets his friends for life, Kurapika, Leorio, and even Killua =3 I found this beginning very similar to the approach done by the Naruto Manga, where you’re thrown into an exam that the main characters need to pass to accomplish their dreams, for various reasons or not-so various reasons (in Naruto, everyone wants to pass the exam to become a ninja =3 although the why is still a bit sketchy in my head, it’s all similar. Here, Gon wants to find his dad, Killua’s bored (gotta love that guy!), Kurapika wants revenge, and Leorio wants to earn enough money so he can become  a doctor.)

Hunter_X_Hunter_by_Aggravated_Attorney

Although it’s from a genre I generally hate and just avoid as it’s too boring, sometimes repulsive, and just not my thing, I can’t drop it! It’s hooked me with the strategies, and the amount of thought that is needed in each episode, by each character to overcome each obstacle. I think that’s what I  like most about it =)

HUNTERxHUNTER_main2

With the first arc, it was the Hunter Exam, and that was pretty awesome. Oh, but before even that, there was this one utterly BRILLIANT quiz moment thing. The question ‘You can only chose one to save. Your son or your daughter/ Your mother or your lover. Who do you choose?’ You  were given ten seconds to answer, with the only possible choices of answer 1 or 2 (1 for the son, 2 for the daughter). Anything else offered as an answer would disqualify you. There was no right answer, as Leorio figured out. But Kurapika hit the nail on the head with the actual correct answer. Silence. BOOM. Mind blown, I know =O

Then there’s that one character (or more if you’re lucky, like in Ouran) that you just can’t stop staring at and squealing about/jumping up and down in their awesomeness. And for me, for this anime, it’s definitely Killua =3

cute-killua-hunter-x-hunter-2011

And cuz he’s so awesome, and I love stalking pictures of anime characters, here’s some more pictures of him that I liked =D

Hunter_x_hunter_2011_episode_12_01_

He comes from a FAMILY of assassins, too. How cool is that?! He is also twelve, might I add. Although to me, they both (Gon and Killua) are ten to me =/ Cuz Ash Ketchum. No, that’s not really the reason xD It’s cuz they don’t look twelve at ALL. They look like little kids. Twelve year old’s look older than that, AND taller. So since they don’t look it, nor act it, they are ten to me =/ Eternally, possibly. Who knows if this is an anime with aging or not…especially since they just managed to open their something aura gates. I think it was Zen? No…Zenstu? (I just checked, and it’s zetsu..damn, so close.) I think that’s the one- nonetheless, it’s the one that considerably slows down aging. Just what a few nearly-teenaged boys needed.

502144-hunter_x_hunter_2011_episode_07__05_

^This is an assassin technique Killua tries to use against this Oji-san/ Old man here to try and steal that ball. Rhythm Step, I think? But it’s walking at a certain speed and using frequencies to confuse your enemy/target of where you are, and cause them to see different illusions too.

Oh, and in anyyyy anime- must mention the theme song ^_^ Or at least I HAVE to with this one. Cuz- I don’t like it =/ Not really. The first time I heard it I found it hilaaarious cuz it was just SO LAME. But after repeaaatedly hearing it, it’s just boring and bleh. There are some anime that have theme songs I don’t ever want to end- and play them on loop. This ain’t one of them. Ooh, but- plot twist- the ending song definitely is!

^A picture from the first scene in the first ending song. The awesome one ❤

The first ending song, for the HxH 2011 remake, in Japanese, is simply addictive. It’s reaaaally good, even though it’s super auto toned in places and has annoying screams in the back- kinda like the one in Death Note season 2 (something all you people, if I recall correctly?). It’s video is also pretty coolio. And it’s hilarious what Killua’s doing in many of the scenes xD Like…

hunterxhunterop_gon-killua-kurapika-leorio

^In this scene, they’re all falling, presumably, off a cliff. Everyone’s flailing cuz they’re falling. And Killua? His hands in his pockets and just falling down like he doesn’t have a caare in the world xD

This is done repeatedly in many scenes. They’re all in difficult situations, and Killua just has  a bored expression on his face as he does what ever the situation requires, with his hands just calmly and chillly in his pockets. Woot woot.

Hunter-x-hunter-06-02

^This picture is one of the last they show at the ending for the first ending song…One word- Wasurenaide~!

Now, character analysis- Gon, Kirupika, Leorio, Killua, Illumi, Hisoka, Too-Cool-for-you-got-piercings-Old-Gramps, Bald Ninja (*cough* wanna be*cough*), and others I have forgotten/refuse to/incapable of remembering that I might mention, but for now, nuo. Like, they belong to what I can tell is the third arc (Ayami-Double, Zushi, and Four-Eyes).

So, We gotta start with the main character- Gon! Your typical super hero main character- like Goku, or Ash, or Naruto, or Natsu, he’s completely naive, looks for the good in people, is trusting, and- let’s face it- not the brightest ^_^ But he’s strong, kindhearted, perseveres, believes in morals to a point where it’s annoying- the works.

Kurapika- is the smart intelligent one. He’s strong too, but not nearly as strong as Killua and Gon or with any of their prodigal potential. He uses chains to defeat his arch enemies which would be The Phantom Troupe, or aka The Spider. He, much like Sasuke, is the sole survivor from his clan, where this Spider killed all his family and brethren so they could steal the red eyes, which apparently are one of the seven most beautiful things in the world in this anime/ seven world wonders. He’s blonde, desperately needs a haircut once they get to the arc with the Phantom Troupe, which I think is the third one…Since I’m now on episode 80, it’s kinda hard to keep track =P

But then there’s Leorio! The doctor to be, the guy who looks thirty, but is actually a teenager (19 at most, 17 at youngest?). This is literally the snapshot of what everyone’s reaction is when they find out he’s a teenager just like the rest of them-

HxH04

^Hahahahahaha xD It’s actually repeated a bit, how old he looks, despite being young =P It’s the opposite of my situation, where everyone thinks I’m like fourteen, or even thirteen, when I am in fact sixteen =P

Noooow, what to talk about? I don’t wanna discuss characters anymore, so I’m just gonna move on to arcs =) Cuz I can. Deal with it B|

Kay, so arc I is the one with the Hunter Exam, already talked about that.
Arc II would be the one where they go to Killua’s house to “rescue” (quoting Gon here) him.
Arc III is the-oh!- It’s not the spider one, it’s the one where they all part ways only to meet again at Yo-something city for an auction that involved the Troupe members. So this arc was basically focusing on Gon and Killua who went to the Paradise Tower and trained, learned and mastered the basics of nen, became stronger, and passed their Hidden Hunter Exam to become Pro Hunters. (Killua failed the Hunter Exam, but he had all the knowledge and skill of a Pro Hunter. He later does get his license.) This is also the arc in which Gon fights Hisoka- le gay and creepyyyy clown guy- and SMACKS HIM IN THE FACE so he returns Hisoka’s 44 badge from the Hunter Exam ^_^
Arc IV would be the one with The Spider. Let’s just say it’s long, and there’s loaaads of drama.
Arc V would be…hm, I’m not sure if I’m skippin something  or not, but I think it was the one with Greed Island. The one where they try to find the game and buy it, only to find themselves hired to play the game, and complete it. Facing loads of challenges, even meeting Hisoka, and possibly a terrible development involving the Phantom Troupe?! But there’s just sooo much to say there…

I’m gonna make a seperate post fro Greed Island now. But here’s a picture from G.I. Tutorial, at the end of every episode of that arc.

images (1)

^Looook at how cute they look chibi-ified xD

And with that- onwards to other anime I’m on right now!

Yup, as much as I love HxH, I paused it, cuz once I got to the next VIth arc, the one with the Chimera Ants, I got bored. It’s not that interesting…and it’s a bit gross with the human-everything else on the planet hybrids =S They look creeepyy, weird, and obviously, unnactural. Even the Queen Chimera Ant…she’s got SQUARE- which means herbivore…what a fail, since she’s just purely carnivore -.-” – human teeth. EW. Gross. Ugh, heebeejeebies…

And on that very happy and joyful note-

*poof*
