Orange (Anime) Update: Ep 8 (and Optimism about Shokugeki no Souma 2)

[Spoiler Alert]

It was bad enough they gave poor Suwa a letter, but now they’re lame enough to have EVERY PERSON IN THEIR GROUP get one too?! Are you bloody kidding me?!! It was impossible enough that the stupidest girl in the group somehow accomplished time travel to send a letter back in time, but now they did it three more times (in addition to Suwa)?!! UGH this show is just- I don’t even know :/ On the other hand, it’s still alright ish.

Let’s also ignore how Kakeru is stupid enough to think that by somehow NOT dating Naho, he’s making it impossible for himself to hurt her. Uhhh that’s not how it works :/ “Have fun without hurting her feelings”. What, you think by acting like a couple and yet not being one is somehow going to stop her from feeling pain if you are stupid enough to get roped into some more of that first gf of yours’ drama? Geeeez.

So uh yeah. However, Shokugeki no Souma: Ni no Sara is going brilliantly ❤ The only slight issue I have with that was Takumi’s loss against stupid gangster imitator thug >.> But they did have him kinda make up for it by handing his mezzaluna to Souma until he can win it back was super cool ❤ And funny when Souma went, “See, true chef’s are total sore losers” xD

Shokugeki no Souma: Ni no Sara~!

THE SECOND SEASON OF SHOKUGEKI NO SOUMA IS OUUUUT~!!
(Ni no Sara means something along the lines of “the second plate”.)
(Well, it came out a day and a half ago, but I tried to wait for Alya to watch it with.)

So Alya and I started Shokugeki no Souma together when it first came out, but we never found a mutual time to finish the first season. So we had that last episode left and I tried to get her to watch it with me now that the second season started. But she kinda made me wait a day and hasn’t replied since, so I just went ahead and finished it.

ONWARDS TO THE SEASON 2

AND OH MY GOSH the hype the drama and the shokugekis have just been crazyyyy in this first episode and the last one of season one!! I have MISSED this show and I can’t WAIT for more! I’ve been waiting for this for so long and after Haikyuu, I have desperately been in need of an anime that gets me that hyped up and excited. Well, here it is ❤

And although this show is so very verryyyy different from most of the anime I watch and just different from most anime altogether, it’s hilarious and totally a must watch! It’s just freaking brilliant ❤

Let the main Autumn Election Tournament bloody finally begin! 😀

Akatsuki no Yona Manga Uptodate-ing

Remember way back in like the Autumn of 2014, I started and loved the anime Akatsuki no Yona? And how I said I would totally read the manga before the second season came out? Well, there’s still no sound of a continuation, but I finally found the time to start and get up to date on the manga!

AnY2

By fully utilizing my overwhelming freedom in the summer vacation, I have spent the last two ish days reading all 122 chapters of the manga. I nearly finished it last night, but I cried waaaayyy too much when it came to Zeno’s backstory TT^TT I just couldn’t read anymore so I took a day to cope.

There’s just so much emotion here with the manga and it went suuuuper farther than the anime. To put that into perspective, the anime ended at about chapter 27 ish maybe 30 at most in the manga. See what I mean?

Now, I’m not here to fangirl over and theorize about what could happen now. I’m just going to be me and spam a few (hah, that’s not me. I spam A LOT.) of pictures and then be off to start my next summer past time adventure- anime~!

(Plans for the summer: Watch Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood (FMAB), rewatch Cowboy Bebop cuz I don’t remember it, and maybe finish the first season of the original Sailor Moon I started in the winter? Who knows. Let’s get to it~!)

But first, Joker Game~

Anime Spring 2016

This is the first Saturday since Haikyuu! ended and there’s no new episoooode D: >.<

Which is why I thought I’d try to console myself and take a serious look at the Spring anime that come out this week and next to figure out what I wanna watch. So here goes~

I Boku no Hero no Academia

II Bungou Stray Dogs (maybe?)

III Joker Game

IV Kyoukai no Rinne Seaoson 2

V Netoge no Yome wa Onnanoka ja Nai to Omotta?
(And you thought there was never a girl online?)

VI Shounen Maid

VI or Sansha Sanyou

VII Tanaka-kun wa Itsumo Kedaruge

….I don’t know if this helped to be honest.

I’m not exactly thrilled about anything this season (except Boku no Hero no Academia which comes out TONIGHT- eeep!) so meh, let’s see how this goes. Oooh, some of the Summer 2016 anime are announced! Imma take a look at that real quick and see if there’s any change of heart ^_^

***

…eh, not really, I mean ReLife looks aight, and then there’s Servamp to potentially add to my so-bad-you’ll-die-of-laughter list, but-

OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD- Shokugeki no Souma get’s its second season then!!!1! ❤

Screw everything else- at least I got one major anime to look forward to this Summer! But that is soo far away…Guess I’ll actually have to pay attention at that internship of mine 😀

Hm, life doesn’t seem so bad anime wise as I thought it was ^_^ And I still got manga to keep me busy- I just reread Heart no kuni no Alice for like the upteenth time and I’m reading Faster than a Kiss now (after realizing if I start Tokyo Ghoul anytime soon, Imma bout to fail those pesky finals of mine, and we don’t want that. No no. (It has over 200 chapters which I wasn’t expecting. Guess that’ll be a fun summer project maybe?)) :3

I also changed my background from Haikyuu! to a Heart no kuni no Alice one….I am trying to move on. Until Fall 2016. Just gotta endure until then 😀

Current Cosplay Plans for 2016

I haven’t cosplayed super seriously since Cruella De Vil and I am CRAVING cosplay now.

And I do realize there are a few cosplays I just haven’t either made the time for or haven’t had the money for, but regardless, I think compiling a list of the ones I aim to accomplish by the end of this year should help me satisfy some urge to walk outside dressed as L just so I can say I am at least trying (and so I  can continue procrastinating my English assignment and put off studying for my CS midterm- it’s not that kinda compiling. Eyyyy. Okay, shutting up now.)

I Sora (from the anime: No Game No Life)

Of course, this was planned as a couple cosplay with Alya and WE STILL INTEND IT TO BE DONE AS SUCH. We’ll just crop each other into our cosplay pictures. Why not? Or take advantage of the separate world and use some magical explanation to explain why we’re apart. (Maybe Tet kidnapped me?? But that doesn’t really make sense since they both have already explicitly said how they can’t be outside of a certain number of meters of each other before…)

I mean, Alya’s first ever wig was for her Shiro cosplay! Super fluffy and white like Killua’s hair, it didn’t suit it all that much, but her styling skills have come far in the few years and I’m sure she can fix it up properly now :3

II Wednesday Addams (from the tv show (and movie): The Addams Family)

Back in my crazy moving/traveling days, I have seen a buuuuunch of the original tv shows’ episodes on many different, suuuuper long flights. That’s where my love for the show began. But honestly, I don’t remember too much of them now, yet when the remake movie came out, I watched is super excitedly and now this Wednesday is the first one I think of whenever I heard Wednesday Addams 😛 So as strangely inconsistent as this will be for my usual original character love, Imma cosplay the reboot version. Oh wyell ^_^

III Nishinoya (from the anime: Haikyuu!)

You might remember my fangirling over this awesome guy in another post when I actually decided I definitely would cosplay him. Imma just link that here now instead of boring you with more gushing over him :3

I’d better stop with the pictures now before I descend into a downward spiral of hunting down all amazing pictures of him…

IV Ellie (from the Disney Pixar movie: Up)

Now, I’ve wanted to through together an Ellie cosplay for the heck of it as a #CasualCosplay ever since I bought my overalls, but I never found a shirt I was happy with! I mean, I do have a button down blue floral shirt that could do in a pinch, but I reeeaaally want to do her justice. And I do have a yellow button down, but the collar is bedazzled with golden sequins….(My wardrobe is fabulous, I am aware.)

V Tohru Honda (from the manga(/anime): Fruits Basket)

One of the first manga I ever read, and definitely the first “longest” one I finished :3 I always thought to cosplay Tohru when I wanted to try out cosplay but not commit to it too much back in middle school. I still never have, but let’s see, maybe I will now!

(Even though now I’d totally rather do a gender bender Hatsuharu or Hiro 😛 Oh snap, I reeeeaaaaally wanna do a Haru now….)

VI Hatsuharu/Haru (from manga(/anime): Fruits Basket)

I think it would be incredibly fun to play around with his alter ego AND his usual personality ❤

VII Either Mikoto-chan or Kashima (or both?!) (from the anime: Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun)

Mikoto-chan:

Kashima:

This sly, Tamaki-level fox BUT WAIT-

Still gets more girls than poor Mikoto-chan which is why he’s so pissed here xD

But it’s okaaay. They both are so amazing and lovable I’ll probably just do both ❤

Wait, is this number VIII or IX now..? Ugh, forget this, it’s been fun, but I’m no way deciding all the cosplays I want to do in an entire year now! It’s fun to sponatneously decide to do one or discover something in your closet that would be perfect for a character so you just DO one.

Either way, this has been fun and I’ll hopefully think up of many more to dress up as too~ :3

Until later tonight when I die over the Haikyuu! season 2 final! (Yes, I’m a day late, but you know what, I was dying after having my gym lock-in and all that excersize. We all know how crazy it is to think of me excersizing at all, let alone the majority of the night, so yes, I slept early and missed my Haikyuu! watching time so I’ve been resisting the urge to watch it until tonight. YAY; get hyped!)

Hotarubi no Mori e

So I’ve finally gotten more so into anime movies (like, singular, independent, make sense on their own sort of movies unlike the thousands of pokemon, beyblade, dbz, and many others I’ve seen so far) and this one just kept sort of coming up when I searched for something to watch. That’s why when I realized I had nothing to do for a few hours, I decided to watch it after all.

[Spoiler Alert!]

I reaaaally liked it, but I can’t say I’m too thrilled with the ending even though it was soooo expected. But I wish there had been a cute end credit scene that either made it look like Gin wasn’t *really* gone, or something like that with his presence still watching Hotaru OR if they showed us Hotaru a few years later still remembering Gin ❤

Also, stupid human child sneaking into a spirit festival and tripping all over the place to chase down some chick- like, bacha, it is freaking midnight and you are about nine years old- why aren’t you home?! Why aren’t your parents looking for you? And bloody WHY are you chasing down some girl in the forest?!? This dumb prick is the reason Gin turned to sparkles 😦 Even though it was bound to happen anyways…there’s only so long that guy could go without hugging Hotaru. (At least he kinda kissed her.)

^Possible thoughts going through Gin’s head at this moment:
I Well, crap. I restrained myself for so long only to be touched by a GUY?! Wtf.
II I am so sparkly. Damn.
III I might as well have REALLY kissed Hotaru (five seconds ago).
IV Dang it, Mountain God! Really, I have to die in an explosion of sparkles?! Couldn’t I have just faded away peacefully instead of having my dignity fade away like it is right now??

Or something like that ^_^

But still, this was cute, and now I’m looking for some more to watch. Who would’ve thought I’d watch this and cry just a little? ❤

Nishinoya/Noya Cosplaaay~!

So in light of my current crazyyyy re-obsession and one-track mindset of Haikyuu, I plan on doing a Haikyuu cosplay even though this would be an ideeeeaaaal group cosplay. (Those are kinda hard to accomplish at the moment when all my group cosplayers have moved to different corners of the world D: )

Anyyyhoo, the only characters I seriously thought to cosplay were Hinata, Nishinoya, and Tsuki, but it’s no surprise who I chose. The wild, awesome Nishinoyaaaa~

And now to spam a thousand pictures of Nishinoya to convince myself even more that this is going to be damn awesome :3

Dun dun duuuuun!

(Psych- I’ll reach it anyways!)

Ao no Exorcist

I was first introduced to the difference between anime and cartoons in fifth grade. I didn’t really understand it, and there wasn’t anyone who got the difference either, so I angrily denied its existence mockingly as people who suddenly wanted to be mature and grown up would call cartoons anime as though they were now justifying how watching cartoons as “adults”.

Only when I was in seventh grade did I begin to understand how anime is different from cartoons and acknowledge it as its own thing. Sure, there are some major exceptions there where in my head Pokemon, Dragon Ball Z, and Beyblade just don’t count as anime. It’s only because I saw them aired first hand when I was little and watched all of it understanding that they were cartoons.

But nonetheless, come seventh grade, I gave it a chance. And clearly, I liked a lot of what I saw. From what I remember, Ao no Exorcist is one of those beginner must sees of anime, and I think I started it in the summer vacation of seventh grade or something like the beginning of eighth. Either way, I loved it and it was one of those binge watches where I started midday, watched like most of the show and then continued watching the next morning after I slept. But I felt like I’d watched it too quickly- that I had breezed through it. I wanted to savour it more. So even though I was already on episode 21 (out of 25), I came to a sudden halt.

I don’t remember perfectly well what happened after I decided that I would watch one episode per day until I finished it, but I never did. And I never went back to it either. Don’t get me wrong- I didn’t forget about it. I thought about it loads. It’s always one of the first anime that come to mind when I get bored, feel like watching something old, feel like finishing something I haven’t, etc etc.

And approximately five or six years later, I have. I started from episode 15 with only the intent to finish it, but after so long…I didn’t want to cheat myself out of some serious enjoyment again. I went back, watched from episode one on to- the last one.

This post isn’t here as a place for me to blab my thoughts and reactions of that ending at all. It’s just here to say I did finish it. And now I shall loop the openings for this classic anime as I search up pictures I like of it ❤

A Different Kind of Finals Week

Last week and this week are when the final episodes of the Autumn season of anime are being released. What kind of finals week were you expecting me to talk about?

Onwards to discussing in no particular order baqwaas/terrible endings. [Spoiler Alert!]

I Diabolik Lovers More Blood

Okay, so this anime short is a total guilty pleasure and I totally called what happened in its final when ranting to my brother about the show. Basically, there’s no plot the first season, so when somehow the show got a second season, the producers probably thought if they wanted  a third season, they’d better get started on some ideas for a plot. So at an attempt to have a story line, they threw in whatever they felt like, which ended up being too much to conclude in twelve episodes. So they just…didn’t. Yeah, the show ends with the Mukami and Sakamaki brothers sort of realizing that they need to work together to fix the second major conflict (which they don’t, so there might be hope/fear? for a third season).

II Dance with Devils

Man, this is definitely one of those anime that I categorize as so bad that it’s good. It’s so utterly terrible that even though its not at all intended to be watched for comedy, it does indeed entertain one with that genre in mind. This anime is a stereotypical demons versus vampire supernatural anime with musical numbers. Yes, you read that right. The characters spontaneously burst into song, complete with costume change and different settings. It’s wonderful.

It’s ending of course was as successful as its (nonexistent) seriousness to the plot. Ritsuka is saved, blah blah, time to get to the important part: Rem confesses to her and she confirms that the feeling’s mutual. Magically and suddenly, Lindo is totally cool with their relationship and decides that he will protect Ritsuka from afar, loving her continuously. But Rem then declares how now that there’s no Grimoire to chase after (yeah, it suddenly disappears after midnight. It’s not like everyone was desperately worrying about it for eleven episodes. No biggie.), he no longer has any reason to stay in the human world (um, Ritsuka?). So he invites Ritsuka to come live with him in the demon world (which she can cuz she have devil). Ritsuka must not question why Rem can’t just live with her, but must now choose between her world and his.

Plot twist/no surprise there after her episodal breakdowns about wanting to be human and living in the human world: she chooses to live as a human in the human world.

Rem leaves and she goes back to being a normal, boring human teenager (which she was told she could never become again since she was half demon but whatever).

The end.

III Star Mu/ High School Star Musical

More musicals! Also stamped with my its so bad its good label, Star Mu is the Free! (Iwatobi Swim club) of music. With less plot, less female characters, much more music, and unintended comedy, this show is a must watch if you can tolerate a bad anime and appreciate its failure.

It was the first musical anime I saw of this season (or ever, maybe?) and its spur of the moment musicals are, as Ayesha puts it, “next level”. I mean, when there’s a character riding a giant magical whale dolphin hybrid and singing, you know shit’s real.

And although I haven’t really discussed its lack of an ending, I’d really like to end on that magestic note. I mean, look at that picture. What more could you want in life? (Except a second season? Which they sorta implied, so fingers crossed? xD )

Anime Recommendation Accomplishment

Yesterday I managed to finally complete a task I have been working on on and off for more than two years (or has it been three..?) and the reality of the situation is hitting me now.

So regardless of how I am completely aware that my brother isn’t an anime fanatic like me, he does watch the odd one or two anime. Which is why whenever I fall in love with one, I always tell him if I think he’ll like it or not when I rave about it to him (because that shall inevitably happen). Aaaand so I started Fairytail like two years ago and was head over heels for it. I watched nothing but that anime for most of the winter break and I almost caught up to the show. (Quite the feat considering how it had 175 episodes out then. This is also when Fairytail was put on hiatus. When I found out that, I abruptly stopped at somewhere around ep 90-something.)

Anyways, ever since I started it, I told my brother, Que, to watch it. But he’s neverrr, not once, tried it! Sure, it being Fairytail, he’s heard of it, and scene pictures of it, but he hasn’t tried it at all.

Yesterday he started it. And he likes it!

There’s a huge deal of satisfaction involved when a suggestion or recommendations is taken both seriously and then becomes loved by the one you recommended it to. Which is the mellow version of how smug and accomplished I feel right now :3

It might even be possible that once we start discussing the episodes he’s seen, I’ll want to revisit this anime and continue off where I was. But, gosh, that’s a looot to catch up on…at least it’s better than DC, huh?
