Arthur’s Theme Song Lyrics

I loved this cartoon when I was a kid back in the States, Arthur, on PBS Kids. And one day last week I had the song “Library Card” song and that’s when I went on a search to listen to it.

Arthur-pbs-kids

(Having fun isn’t hard when you have a library card!!)

Which I did, here, on the actual PBS Kids website. You can listen to these songs from the show, like Lucky Pencils, the Crazy School Bus, and the UFO Song. And of course…The theme song!!

(Although it did have some errors in it, so I typed my own lyrics out. That I got by typing out what was said when I listened to the song. About three times, so as not to mess it up..)

And so, Imma post the lyrics for the theme song. Which, now that I listen to the song, is suuuper motivational, and perfectly perfect for raising kids. And when I sang the song for Ayesha (who hadn’t really watched the show as a kid) said it really explained the way I turned out =P

Arthur

The Arthur Theme Song

Every day when your walking down the street,
And everybody that you meet
Has an original point of view.

And I say Hey- Hey!
What a wonderful kind of day
If we could learn to work and play,
And get along with each other.

You gotta listen to your heart,
Listen to the beat,
Listen to the rhythm,
The rhythm of the street.
Open up your eyes,
Open up your ears.
Get together and make things better
By working together.

It’s a simple message,
and it comes from the heart.
Oh, believe in yourself,
for that’s the place to start.

And I say Hey- Hey!
What a wonderful kind of day,
if we could learn to work and play,
and get along with each other!

You gotta listen to your heart,
Listen to the beat,
Listen to the rhythm,
The rhythm of the street.
Open up your eyes,
Open up your ears.
Get together and make things better
By working together.

It’s a simple message,
and it comes from the heart.
Oh, believe in yourself,
for that’s the place to start.

And I say Hey- Hey!
What a wonderful kind of day,
if we could learn to work and play,
and get a long with each other!- Hey!

What a wonderful kind of day,
if we could learn to work and play,
and get along with each other!- Hey!

What a wonderful kind of day- Hey!
What a wonderful kind of day- Hey!

Well, that’s it, and I hope you enjoyed it. And found it awesome. If only kids listened to this kind of stuff once they could understand the lyrics better…instead of raps and other kinds of loud music all the time =/

Wouldn’t that be a change for the better?

I’m Ze Cookie Monster

Omnomnomnomnomnomnom!!

Yes, another nickname from waaayyy back in the seventh grade, the Sesame Street Gang. I was the Cookie Monster, Hiffee was Elmo, and Abeer was Count Van Count. Good times, good times.

And ever since these random wanabes have started wearing Cookie Monster hoodies and Elmo hoodies even though they never watched Sesame Street as children totally disgusts me, and makes me feel ripped off. I’ve loved it since I was four, and the Cookie Monster’s been my fav character since then! And these people wear these hoodies, and talk about it’s awesomeness which just SUCKS.

Rip off!! *a kick to the shin and runs off*

But I just got this cute little bright blue, legit Cookie Monster hoodie from Hadia yesterday. It’s go the fluffy fur like the actual Cookie Monster does, so I look like him, and don’t have a blue hoodie with his face on the front. Too cool for that shiz.

I wore it to school today, and everyone loved it and agreed that I am the Cookie Monster =3

The best coincidence was when Zaid showed me that he was wearing Cookie Monster socks xD This just supports the AlisonXSimon shipping =P It’s just fate =’D

Now I poof, so that I can post properly about what tomorrow’s plan is SUPPOSED TO BE. Since tomorrow, I’m pretty sure some different shiz is gonna go down xD

Ooor, I can just forget that I said I’d write a seperate post, and just sort of add it along here… I mean, why not?

So, the plan is to leave school at 12.30 ish pm, once I’m out of class. Then, we divide from Anime Addicts to The Semi-Normals, and cruise to the resturant. In styyyle. I shall be listening to a buuunch of Japanese anime theme songs. And singing along too xD

Once, we get there, if we’re early we’ll chill, take a bunch of pictures, videos, and just mess around. Basically, creep all those at that posh place out. If not, we’ll just go towards our reserved table(s) and order food. And mess around obviously. Possibly play some Truh, Dare, or Rather, or perhaps do some strange pick-up challenges with the chopsticks.

Note to self- Do not forget to take your own chopsticks. Just for the hell of it. And to bother Zaid xD

After eating, which will evidently take two hours, a bunch of us plan on heading to Alya’s place, after which I shall be picked off and thrown into tution, to cram some math =Y

The people included in this bday shindig are, of course, the bday girls, Alya, and Mehernaz, Ayesha, Zara, Zaid, Shayan (maybe?), Saliha, and I ^_^

I can’t wait! It’s going to be so fab =D And I plan on towering over Alya and Ayesha by wearing my wedged boots =3 Huzzah to height!

*I’ve just said or done something crazy. Or both.*
“How high are you??”
“5’2″!”
*flies away*

Crazy, Chocolate, and Cookies,

Recipe- A Pasta Sandwhich

Here’s a suuuuper easy recipe that’s creative, easy to make, and Ali Approved. I mean, it’s something that even I can make. And this is the girl that has set the microwave on fire whilst making microwavable popcorn. Multiple times.

Ahem. Well, this a unique twist on what the hell to do with leftover pasta you’re just tired of reheating over and over again that will just never finish. So here’s the recipe. Well, instructions. It’s very flexible, so you can add and remove whatever you like almost. Just enjoy it.

This dish was devised being creative with leftover pasta. Please keep that in mind.

Ingredients-
1. A bit of leftover pasta (already prepared, boiled pasta with keema/minced meat added if preferable, red pasta sauce/sauce of your choice.) (rtp, or even fresh out of the fridge works.)
2. A slice of cheese of your choosing. (Mine, cheddar)
3. Two slices of your choice of bread. (Mine, white. Brown if available.)

(Sort of) Required-
1. Open-minded-ness towards different food combinations.
2. A Sandwich-maker. The kind you’d use to make a plain ol’ grilled cheese sandwich.
OR
2. A stove and a microwave. And preferbility of solid cheese over melted cheese.

Prepare-(Sandwich-maker Edition)

1. Take a slice of bread and place into your sandwich maker.
2. Spread a layer of pasta, as thick or thin as you’d like on to the bread.
3. Place your cheese slice on top of that.
4. Top with the last slice of bread.
5. Manage to slam/smush the lid of the sandwich maker down (this may vary in difficulty depending upon the helpfulness of your sandwich maker and how much pasta you stuffed your sandwich with.)

Prepare-(Stove Edition)
1. Heat one slice of bread on a pan (no oil or water in the pan necessary) both sides.
2. While heating the bread, place your pasta in the microwave and heat until you are happy with it’s temperature. Usually, I’d say popping it in for 30 seconds should do it, if not, put it in for another 10 seconds, and do so repeatedly until you’re fine with its temperature. Check in between. (Duuh.)
3. Heat second slice of bread in the same way.
4. Assemble your sandwich. Bread, pasta, solid cheese, bread. If you REALLY must have melted cheese, just pop the sandwich into the microwave again, but note that the pasta will dry up a bit, and the bread might become soggy (especially if you have used loads of pasta sauce/condiments.)

Result-
You end up with a shell of bread, stuffed full of delish warm pasta, with melted cheese a top it. True love ❤

Wanna stretch this meal out to TWO days?!
Why not make the pasta first for dinner, then have this leftover utilizer for lunch? It’s quick, efficient, and sounds like an ad for some washing soap or some tubaware like thing!

Patsa Prep-
1. Take a packet of pasta such as the macaroni type, and pour it into a a pot that is mostly full of water (tap water, since it gets dumped later on.)
2. Put the pot on the stove, and set to a medium flame. Wait for about four to seven minutes for the pasta to boil and become soft. Stir occasionally to make sure the distribution of heat is equal and so that this foamy stuff doesn’t overflow from the pot (if stirring isn’t keeping it at bay, just blow directly on top of the pot. That always works!)
3. Drain the pasta onto a wired mesh thing, on top of a sink. Be veryyy careful, since you can EASILY get burns from boiling water. And make sure to keep it away from your face, do it steadily, not all at once, and if terrified, get an adult to do it for you.
4. Put the boiled pasta back into the pot. And now add the pasta sauce. Since this is cooking for dummies, and I am completely incapable of making my own, I simply use Ragu’s red pasta sauce. If you have your own that you can make, or get Dobby to make for you, please feel free to use that instead. I didn’t say, but you can also use white pasta sauce. Obviously. You could also technically use Nutella, but let’s just stick with reasonably not technically, now shall we?
5. Stir in the sauce.
6. Heat for a bit, so the sauce also becomes warm.
7. Viola, you’re done!
8. “lol”, no you aren’t. You still gotta clean up. Unless you get Dobby to do that for you. Then you can really be done at step 7.

Aaaaand that’s my Innovative Cooking for the Lazy and Incapable!

Be it a college student, or just someone else out there with a curse like me, feel free to try this out, and send me some pictures, or comment as to how YOU liked it.

I’d especially loved it if you’d send me your own version of this recipe by adding and doing your own thing to it. Like I might put more veggies next time. (Didn’t have any this time =( ) Or try doing it with a white sauce and brown bread. Add some lettuce. Make it a legit sandwich. Meh, I don’t know, just sort of brainstorming and babbling~

OH, I’m having a few friends over tomorrow, and I’ve still got some pasta left over…well, I know what I’ll be serving them ^_^

Hope this helped, and hope you try it!

It’s REALLY not as gross as it may sound =P

A Quest at the Mall

This all happened yesterday, but I was too sleepy to type this entire story out.

My mom needed to buy my cousin a birthday present, so I tagged along. That’s literally how this story starts. I was just bored at home, and felt like going outside. (I know, how crazy of me, right?)

This turned into a quest very quickly, as soon as we climbed onto the escalators. See, my mom got onto it, but these two aunties managed to get between us, and so I was behind them. So it’s my mom, then them- a granny, a mother, and a little kid- and then finally me.

The kid is like on drugs or something- he was insanely hyper!- and had obviously just had over a spoonful of sugar, and was jitterbugging around, jumping up and down, constantly in motion. Then, he falls, drags Mama down with them, down a few steps to where I was standing, and dammit, I got stabbed in the ankle by that evil auntie’s heel!! I got stabbed in the ankle by an auntie’s heels!! I was also pushed, cuz damn she had some momentum going for her, and nearly slipped down the escalator (it was going up.) but since I’d gripped the railing thingie just in time, I was safe. After we got off the escalator, I gave them at least a 7 meter radius, and walked around them to my mom. That auntie was evil =/

No joke, after the kid did all that, I was expecting at least an ‘I’m sorry”, SOME form of an apology, but no, she just scolded him playfully, with the most lyrical fake voice ever, to make it sound like she was the best mother ever, scolding her kid for misbehaving, right in public, cheers to her for being so reasonably disciplined, and all that. I mean, you could HEAR the smugness in her voice, like she was thrilled to be in the spotlight- her time to shine. Bleh, desperate for attention. Another thing- who goes, just for the heck of it, shopping in heels? If your out with friends, or it’s a date, and you want to look nice for and to impress the people you are going with fine, but if you’re going with your son that’s barely capable of putting one foot in front of the other- wait, that more aptly describes his clumsiness, not his age…since he wasn’t that young. Son that’s around six or seven? and your mother, who obviously doesn’t care about what color she’s wearing so long as it’s all warm? Are the heels really necessary then?

And then, on our way up to this store Breakout, I noticed for the first time ever who was at the mall. Usually, I just notice if there are a lot of people or not. I don’t bother to specify and notice- hey, there are loads of old people today, or something of that sort. But today I did, and there were waaayy too many kids for comfort.

And in Breakout, bam!, it’s full of little kids! It was terrible, I was trying reaaally hard to avoid them.

Oh, and don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate kids. Well, I don’t particularly like them either…I guess it’s like people, if I like them I do, but that doesn’t mean I like all those of that age group…something like that? It depends which kid, and I’ll give you an opinion. I might love one, hate another, and just find the other three boring. But otherwise, I don’t dislike all kids in general. Kind of neutral about it? But I do have a general they-should-get-lost-ew-why-are-they-here?! attitude towards most kids HERE. That’s cuz parents let them do whatever the SHIT they want to do. And this story will explain what I mean. Since I don’t just mean that the parents will toss them their iPhones and give them their own by the age of five, I mean- well, you’ll get it soon enough.

So I’m standing towards a corner of the store featuring the guys’ stuff, cuz I was helping my mom pick something out for my brother. We finally decided on this hoodie that was stripped. But we were arguing on the color. They had this blue an green stripped one, and a navy blue and yellow one. I found the yellow one cooler, and I think my Que has waaayy too much blue and green in his wardrobe as it is. But, as we stand there debating it out, there’s this mannequin right next to me. And this little girl trying to climb it. Yes, she was in fact trying to CLIMB it. And her dad’s like right there, and he doesn’t even bat an eye, until she along with the mannequin come tuuumbling down, and she just wriggles away, jumping towards the next closest mannequin, and tries to get to the top of that one. The mannequin, explodes into an assortment of limbs on impact with the ground, right next to where I’m standing, and I narrowly avoid being impaled with a pink plastic arm.

See? Forget parenting, there’s no CONTROL over these kids here, and by the time they get to something like five, they will be untamable BEASTS. Fear them, and run. That’s the best advise I can give. When forced in their company, be wary, very very wary. But don’t flinch or show any indication of anything other than happiness and rainbows- they smell fear!

And that was my adventure at the mall. Them kids were out to get me O.o

Howdy to a lil’ Holiday DIY SnowGlobe

‘Tis the season of giving, sharing, and- why not?- MAKING!

Snow-glooobes

Wait- it’s the Winter Solstice and it ain’t snowing? And of course, it’s not the same if there are no snowflakes! But do not fret, we can change that up a bit with this simple yet gorgeous DIY I found day before yesterday, but haven’t had the time nor materials to try yet. But here goes anyways.

View the original blog I found this DIY at too, it’s pretty cool =D Plus, you can order a special kit to get all the materials to make this DIY if you want from their site too! Disclaimer- all these photos are from the original blog, Brit+Co, unless otherwise stated.

So, get down with Frosty, and create your own magical winter wonderland, complete with snow in the form of a girl’s best friend, glitter!

Snow-GLobe

I mean, just loook at that spectacular show of shimmer! #EmphasisThroughAlliteration

So let’s get started, now shall we?

Materials-
I Airtight Jar(s)
II Glitter
III A form of SuperGlue (Elfee, or UHU, or E-6000 glue.)
IV Stuff to stick on your jar- like a Christmas Bauble, or other decoration item, like a small tree, or a small figurine, etc.

w640

Step I- Unscrew your jar lid, and glue whatever you will be putting in the snow globe onto it.

w640 (1)

w640 (2)

Press down firmly to make sure it’ll dry securely. Now let it dry properly. To be on the safe side, I’d recommend you to leave it to dry overnight, or to be on the super-safe side, dry for 24 hours. If you’re super giddy to finish the project, then I guess you could shorten the wait to 4 hours, but I’m not sure how well that’d turn out.

Step II- Fill your jar with as much water as possible. Now comes the fun part- adding the glitter! As much as you like, with as many colors as you’d like. Although, you do end up with a snow globe that might have glitter clump in it every now and then. I’ve heard of this tip that’s supposed to fix that up, which is to use hot/warm water in the jar, then use glitter glue instead of glitter as it dissolves in the water more uniformly, yet I haven’t tried this out myself, so I can’t verify whether it works or not. I’ll try this out, then get back to y’all if it does or doesn’t.

w640 (3)

Step III- Shake and enjoy! Have fun making these, and I hope you liked it =D I mean, this is a cute little DIY you could do with kids as a fun little project to lift the holiday spirit, or for those who are homesick without snow this season could be cheered up a bit (I know it worked on me!), and these little guys would make awesome gifts too!

w640 (4)

Just have fun with it, and you can use loads of different stuff instead of tiny Christmas trees. I was thinking of making an Alice in Wonderland themed one myself, honestly. With a lollipop, a peppermint candy cane, and other candies, and a figurine of the Cheshire Cat. I was  thinking of making a Christmasy/Winter Solstice one with Christmas baubles, and plastic snowflake ornaments too. I can’t wait to try this out myself! And soon, I hope!

DIY PaperGems & Crystals

As ive been very into the whole DIY thing this summer, and have done a couple projects in my free time, i thought id post links and my own instructions further adding to DIYs i found, performed, accomplished and whatever else. So i dont lose the links too, and so i can easily access all this stuff too.

So I found this amazing  blog with looaads of cute ideas and posts of DIYs called
http://www.minieco.co.uk/

and on it i found this wonderfully easy and pretty idea and instructions on how to make paper gems and crystals. Its super easy, looks super cute, and a fun way to pass the time. you could string these into a necklace, or a curtain if you have the time(which i totally have) and patience (what i lack), or put them in a glass/crystal bowl as decorations, or or… There are so many things you can use these for. You could also give them away as favors at a party for your daughters little princess tea party, or gift them to your friends. its honestly up to how creative you are.

This is one of those wonderful DIYs that you can easily pull off in 5 min or less and yet still manage to impress everyone with the outcome. Its a DIY that makes people think youre amazingly artsy, creative, and simply AWESOME for having managed to make something so impressive. Its an ideal DIY. easy to make. but still impressed everyone and makes them think you mustve put sooo much effort, time, and care into making it. Yep. my favourite kinda DIY. A Cheat DIY. =D

paper-gems

heres her original post= http://www.minieco.co.uk/paper-gems/

Now, first off, youll need to download a template which will tell you exactly in what shape you need to cut the paper to fold and glue into these adorable and uniform crystals. and you can download it here= http://www.minieco.co.uk/images/nov11/minieco-paper-gems.pdf or download it directly from this post by clicking on this= minieco-paper-gems template With the template, heres a photo to work sort of as ‘table of contents’ type thing (sorry, i have NO idea what to call it…) where each number on this picture coincides with the net design on the template. and i promise, its a whole lot easier to understand when looking at both the template and the picture… but here it iiis. basically, so you know which crystal youre making.

Template of gems table of contents

Cut out the net design. Fold along the dotted lines given in th template. Glue the little flaps in such a way as to close the entire crystal/gem. Aaaand youre done! =)

If your having a hard time copying the template, you could print the template onto your colored paper. Then cut out the net, and simply fold the folds in the opposite direction, so that the printed dotted lines are on the inside. simple.

These gems can be made even prettier (say whaat?! =O ) by maybe using printed paper, or if your a cheapskate like me(actually, none of this stuff is available where i live =/) you can paint or pen/ink floral designs, or doodles on notebook paper, or paint geometric designs or whatever by hand on paper and then use that. even newspaper could look cool =). you could also paint effects on each side of the crystal, like light is hitting it and shade the colors accordingly. you could add sequins or beads. its up to you.

You could spray paint the sides metallic silver or gold, like in the original blog.

silver spray painted paper gems crystals

You could spray paint with contrasting colors (green crystal, pink paint. purple crystal, yellow paint). You could use glitter instead of spray paint too (probably what im gonna do. oh yeah, i didnt say? i havent done this DIY yet =3 im planning on doing it today, but i got excited and wanted to post a tutorial type thing about it first. im weird  crazy, i know =P so yeaaah. Or use glitter as a design, a geometric one, or a diagnor checkered pattern would also look prettyy cool. yeah. stuff like this

close up silver spray painted gems

make your crystals/gems look gemmier and more crystalline-y than ever! =)

Hope you (and i both!) have fun making these, and i hope they come out great! this seems super fun and easy and i cant wait to try it aswell. This would be pretty fun to do at a birthday party or a hang out session, just you and your girl friends or whatever, and sit around and and make these. [Then you could joke around about whos is best/worse =P ] It could be a cute little workshop, or a stall selling these home made cuties would be good at any fund raiser. You could do loads of things with them and with making them. Just have fun with it!

Greaaat, so i hope it all works out and you have fuuun doing it!

The Deaths of the Deer

(plural of deer? what kinda collective noun do you use for deer? a pack? a flock? a…HERD! thats it, right? so happy i got it! =) but now i cant say ‘grammar nazis unite!’ anymore =( pooh.)

A funny story concerning collective nouns: my best bud, ayesha’s younger bro has some interesting kids in his class (the 6th grade). they were doing an exercise on collective nouns. and one of those interesting kids…wrote for a ____ of tigers…he wrote…a FLOCK. yep. just imagine. geese are migrating south for winter, and then majestically, a tiger swoops over to gobble them whole, with its gorgeous wide spread eagle wings. hahahaha, hilarious. i love kids sometimes =D

Oh, want the best snack for winters? A grill cheese sandwhich. JUST KIDDING. minus the cheese. totally serious. PLUS nutella. such melted warm goodness =3 *drool*

Anyways, the deer now.

i went to a debate practise session today, at Hoti’s place. now, as soon as i entered i was confused as to where to go (she hadnt answered her door, but her worker/cook/person dude there did) since there are two staircases; one leading up, and one down. after i say hello..? and my friend ayesha and my coach tell me to climb the stairs, i do. and the wall touching the sorta spirally stairs was – COMPLETELY covered in atleast eight, i shit you not EIGHT, deer heads. super huge ones that looked fake, normal ones that looked real except that it looked like they had twigs on their heads instead of horns, and even -AW! =( – baby deer! (filly? no, thats a horse…) it was sad. but i was chill when i got up to the session, and i didnt act creeped out by this, and everyone was shocked at my reaction, my lack of reaction, my utter chillness, and acceptence. sure, who ever did it was and is a heartless beast for doing so, but its not my place to say so. i mean, i know that but i still would have, if id known who had done it (no one but the debaters where there, the host/hosts were not present. breaking and entering…just kidding, they were in another room, s’all =P

And then we discussed the debate topic, and agenda. and now on tuesday is the actual debate. but cuz of timing clashes with my tutions, i am now going to come late (only attend the last hour). and thus i getting to JUDZGE. random z typo. but it looks cool, so ill just leave it there =P yeps, im weird ^_^

and it gets weirder. (and you thought i was done…ha!)

as we were leaving, i noticed something else in the main entrance room. there were about three/a bunch of rooms to my left as i entered the house, and the stairs on my right. so now, i noticed something on the top of the door frames. i guess i didnt notice it before cuz i was just nervous (entering someone elses house for the first time does that to me, especially if i dont know them. dont know why, just does. =S is that weird? am i the only one?) or something (ha, not really =P theres no point pretending to be normal now…) and i missed it but i pointed it out, and apparently i was the only one to notice it too. (im usually a lot more observant that this. just saying.) there were deer heads there too. no, wait thats incorrect. they were SKULLS. *shudder* super creepy. ugh.

now how the hell am i supposed to go to sleep? -.-” i really shouldve written about That Typo Bus before going to sleep instead…*Sigh* oh well, now ill just listen to 1D and go to sleep =P

Ciao~

yeah. im italian too. deal with it =P B) 😉
