High School Musical Anniversary

High School Musical. A must watch Disney movie from our childhood. But has it really been that long? YES, apparently it has.

The 20th of Jan 2016 was High School Musical’s TEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY. Like, whaaaat. I can’t believe it’s been that long! #HSM10

I’ve literally grown up singing these songs and dreaming of high school being nearly half as cool as these movies- which, not to brag, but I think I managed quite easily xD

So as I sit here typing this and simultaneously put off scanning my calc III homework and listening to the songs from the movies, I’m reminicing all the wonderful moments High School Music has just had HAPPEN.

Be it mocking the movies once upon a time (only to embrace the pure brilliance that this franchise is and appreciate it as I should), making wonderful references, or being thrilled that my high school mascot was originally a Snow Leapard, which was to me, pretty damn close to a Wild Cat- how close? CLOSE ENOUGH. Oi, I DID have the same school colors as East High, so there is that~!

Anyyyways, the cast attempted to have a reunion, but since Zac Efron’s not there, it doesn’t count. But it still sorta happened- and he did send in a video, so there’s that. But I want a REAL reunion- and sooooon~!

I actually only found out about the reunion by stumbling across it on youtube, but this is the one I watched:

And because that wasn’t enough, I ended up also watching just this today which I think is a pretty cool compilation of some fun facts and did you knows from the movies :3

OH MY GOSH ❤ I wanna rewatch it again soooooon ❤ ❤ Even though I just marathonned the movies like a little over two months ago- oh well. I know what I’m doing this weekend 😀

Basically, to quote the last movie,
“I just hope the rest of my life
will feel as good as my
High School Musical.
Who says we have to let it go?
It’s the best part we’ve ever known
Step into the future
But hold on to High School Musical
Let’s celebrate where we come from
The friends who’ve been there all along, just like…
High School, High School Musical~!” ❤

Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo/The Girl Who Leapt Through Time

Okay, this was so unexpectedly DIFFERENT from what I thought it would be! I knew it was about time travel- I mean, who wouldn’t with that kind of title? Speaking of the title, Makoto figuring how to leap through time is just…

[Spoiler Alert! Not really, but the rest of the post is!]

her legit LEAPING all the time. I’m surprised she didn’t get all those bruises she got when she was trying to save Kousuke and Kaho (?) earlier with all the jumping she did.

(ALSO. They sort of never addressed that head on- how she tripped over some guy’s trainer when she was running down that hill. I mean, it’s obvious to infer that “some guy” is probably Chiaki, buuuuut he said he used up his last time travel charge to save them because a certain someone was crying with guilt. But he made her tumble too..? To save her from sacrificing herself?? Though she WAS way too far to do anything like that…I DON’T GET IT AND IT BUGS ME. It’s legit like the only discrepancy I notice with the time travel so far in this movie…)

I sort of found it annoying at first- how the art doesn’t seem to focus on the main characters. They’re all extraordinarily plain, but the backgrounds and different scenery are amaaaazingly detailed. It was unnerving and a little disliked in the beginning, but I kinda grew to like it. It makes the characters seem easier to understand and simpler, though they aren’t really. A bit more…honest almost.

This scene bugged me! I thought Makoto would time travel back and back and back and maybe eventually realize she liked Chiaki, then time travel back to this scene and just damn SAY YES.

But she doesn’t.

Mayyybe Chiaki being from the future had a little something to do with that. Just maybe.

I originally thought Makoto would learn her lesson with time traveling and use up her last time charge to leap back to the day that was super “unlucky” for her- which she edited to suuuuper lucky once she figured out how to control her leaps. You know, live out her life as she was supposed to that first time. With all the mishaps and disasters. Getting up late, not getting any pudding, cooking like me in her cooking class, but walk home instead of ride her bike. But they didn’t do anything like that, and it was evident after the scene where Makoto waited in the  science lab for whoever it was she saw that day.

Now, I thought the movie would interestingly have Yuri walk in like they did and make it seem that the person that shocked Makoto in the first place into time traveling was her from the future. But instead of having her realize that herself when no one showed up in that room, Yuri mentions once Makoto runs off how she did see someone on her way over to that science lab. Surprise, surprise, it was Chiaki.

And there you have it- it becomes blatantly obvious that Chiaki was- is- I don’t even know anymore- from the future.

(….what a bore.)

But it was kinda alright, sorta really emotional, and prettyyyy infuriating with THIS ENDING. And now I don’t know what to expect.

There was no amazing end credit scene in the future or anything. I reaaaally liked a lot of it. It did catch me off guard, got me to care and to cry, and got my interested. But it did annoy me with some aspects like Chiaki being from the future and actually going back once he had his time charge.

(Also, how did he time leap back so that Makoto and he had one last charge left AFTER they both used them up?? AND his device was broken??? MORE DISCREPANCIES AAAH)

AND THEY NEVER EXPLAINED THE PAINTING D:

So many questions. Such few answers. Absolutely no sequels. (Unless this pulls a pixar- since it very well HAS been ten years since it came out….)

Aight, I’ve procrastinated for a good five hours now. I should actually do my english essay now (ewwww).

Ao no Exorcist

I was first introduced to the difference between anime and cartoons in fifth grade. I didn’t really understand it, and there wasn’t anyone who got the difference either, so I angrily denied its existence mockingly as people who suddenly wanted to be mature and grown up would call cartoons anime as though they were now justifying how watching cartoons as “adults”.

Only when I was in seventh grade did I begin to understand how anime is different from cartoons and acknowledge it as its own thing. Sure, there are some major exceptions there where in my head Pokemon, Dragon Ball Z, and Beyblade just don’t count as anime. It’s only because I saw them aired first hand when I was little and watched all of it understanding that they were cartoons.

But nonetheless, come seventh grade, I gave it a chance. And clearly, I liked a lot of what I saw. From what I remember, Ao no Exorcist is one of those beginner must sees of anime, and I think I started it in the summer vacation of seventh grade or something like the beginning of eighth. Either way, I loved it and it was one of those binge watches where I started midday, watched like most of the show and then continued watching the next morning after I slept. But I felt like I’d watched it too quickly- that I had breezed through it. I wanted to savour it more. So even though I was already on episode 21 (out of 25), I came to a sudden halt.

I don’t remember perfectly well what happened after I decided that I would watch one episode per day until I finished it, but I never did. And I never went back to it either. Don’t get me wrong- I didn’t forget about it. I thought about it loads. It’s always one of the first anime that come to mind when I get bored, feel like watching something old, feel like finishing something I haven’t, etc etc.

And approximately five or six years later, I have. I started from episode 15 with only the intent to finish it, but after so long…I didn’t want to cheat myself out of some serious enjoyment again. I went back, watched from episode one on to- the last one.

This post isn’t here as a place for me to blab my thoughts and reactions of that ending at all. It’s just here to say I did finish it. And now I shall loop the openings for this classic anime as I search up pictures I like of it ❤

Quotes and Stuff from Yu-Gi-Oh! the Abridged Series

One of the most hilarious things ever. And here are a few pictures, jokes, and quotes from the series.

*Miiiind Cruuush*

This one picture summarizes these characters so well.

Bandit Keith’s Catch Phrase that make total sense.

I love the scene where Bandit Keith is telling his three henchmen to get lost and get off Duel Kingdom Island. He does so by saying to get out of America. And when they respond with the logical ‘this isn’t America’, he replies with “All countries belong to America!”. “…So how are we supposed to leave then?” “I don’t know!”

Joey’s trying reaaally hard to make it his thing.

Main character- he can get away with anything. When he cheats, he doesn’t.

Recall Bakura’s sad, sad past.

One does not simply forget the trauma of their father pouring boiling tea over one’s mother and asking “Why so British?!!” repeatedly.

Episode One- It lacked a lotta logic.

I gotta say…that’s a creepy smile, Kaiba O.o

Pew pew.

Suuuure.

And yet Bakura and Marak are constantly shipped together both in fan fictions and in this series. They are both characters portrayed to be gay-

As you can clearly see, Bakura isn’t very fond with admitting to it. He likes his British excuse.

I’m sure this is what it’s going to be like when I finally go back to watching the actual Yu-Gi-Oh! soon enough.

My sentiments exactly. And my face exactly too. Never would I have thought I’d have the same expression as the all handsome Duke Devlin =| =/ =P

Aaaand now I’m off to watch some more of the series :3

Go watch it 😀 Well, before I watched it on that other site I mentioned before, but it didn’t have any episodes after 35. I couldn’t find any, at least. So I started watching it on dailymotion.com. They’re available there, albeit with French Subs for some reason =P

But there nonetheless and funnyyy~

So now I poof to go watch it =)

Laterrr~

A Long Break, and a Hilarious Dub

So I have a break in my CIEs. A loooong break. A twenty day long break, to be exact. And after which, I have my Physics practical. A day break, and then my Chemistry one. After which I have something around six days, then my Chemistry MCQs, another day gap, then lastly and finally, my Physics MCQs.

Haah, the papers with all the writing are overrr! There’s no more Maths ( =( ), and there’s no more theorieessss~!

Moving on…

I found something hilarious yesterday. As you know, I’ve been wathing Yu-Gi-Oh! for the first time. And I remembered earlier in the school year, Zara and I were discussing it. She mentioned watching an abridged of it. And I recalled this last night, at around one am, after I forced Que to watch three episodes of No Game No Life. (He fell in love with it, evidently.) That’s how  I found the Yugioh Abridged series by LittleKurioboh. And it’s damn hilaaaarious~!

Must watch for anyone that’s scene Yu-Gi-Oh!

Although it’s really tough to find all the videos on youtube, since apparently LittleKuriboh got banned or something, and all the playlists of the series were deleted/the videos were deleted/removed. So I googled it, and found a site with the complete videos on them! There’s this one too, but the order of the vids all jumbled up, as far as I can tell.

If you ever wanted to know why Yugi’s such a hobbit, why Tristen’s in this show in the first place, and what is up with Joey’s accent, you should totally watch this. It also explains why there are but only two female characters in the entire show, plus, why Mai can never beat Joey. Who is Taya gonna end up falling for? Why is Bokura a British prick? And much muuuch more!

Now I guess I’ll recycle my sexy transformation sequence!
(Something along those lines) -Yugi, Yugioh Abridged.

MovieReview (not really)- The Incredibles (2004)

images (6)

Just throwing it out there that I have FINALLY watched The Incredibles. Yay. Yes, I am goddamn sixteen and I JUST saw the Incredibles in the year 2014, ten whole years after it came out. I just…never saw it as a child. I don’t know why, I just never did.

[My parents have never been keen on us kids watching Western movies, and they rarely took us out out to watch them. So unless they were aired on Cartoon Network, I most likely haven’t seen it, or if I have, I moved here and watched it either online, or on dvd. Go Asia!]

I LURVVE Edna ❤ She is totally hilarious. I wish I could see what kind of super hero SHE was, back in the day….

images (5)

So yeah. I saw it. And I absolutely loved it! I wish I’d seen it sooner. But it was amazing ❤ I’m not gonna review it properly, but just say it makes it to my TimelessMovies list. Done and done.

Totally a classical super hero movie ❤
