So for Cartoon Day..

After coming up with like three separate costume ideas for which cartoon character to go as, and that isn’t even counting the anime ones (Timmy Tuner from Fairly Odd Parents, Spanelli from Recess, Ash Ketchum from Pokemon, and Tyson Granger from Beyblade.), nor the ones I thought up for Ayesha,I finally got all dressed in my large green sweater, black skinnies, and a size too big black converse that I stole from Que (yuuup, I was THAT dedicated to my costume. I could’ve just worn my grey boots or black flats- but NO, I HAAAD to wear black converse. Big ones, at that.), and went as Number 3 from the Kids Next Door!

Numbah 3

It worked that I had straight, dark hair. And I’m short, so passing off as a kid has never been a true challenge. And I act like number three too, so that works ^_^

The best part was that I could burst into song- THIS song!

Rainbow monkeys, Rainbow monkeys, oh so very round and suuuper chunky!
Bringing loove wherever they go. Everyone’s made of a biig rainboooow!
Oh, red and orange, and pink and bluue,
Rainbow monkeys, Rainbow monkeys, we love yooou!!

And it would make total sense.

RAINBOW MONKEY!

The coolest thing was when I told Zaid I was Number 3 from KND, and he just had this *mindblown* expression on his face, scanned me, then went “you are!!”. But it wasn’t my outfit he was talking about, he meant that I AM Number 3. “you ARE Number 3!!”

It was fab.

Then there was this total #Beelive moment where I found out that apparently Alya went as Number 3 as well last year on Cartoon Day =D I had no idea, and I didn’t even discuss with her my costume for the day! So perfect, my beelive buddy =3

There was also some other really awesome costumes. Zaid just became “cartoony” and not a cartoon character. He wore a Daffy Duck T-shirt (one I wish was mine >.> ), jeans, SHORTS on top of the jeans, a blue strippy TIE, and a hoodie. He looked retarded and utterly hilarious.

Shayan’s costume was utterly amazing too. He wore a suit, and when asked da hell he was, he would play a song on his phone, unbutton his shirt, and flash the superman tee he was wearing underneath it. It was pretty coolio.

But not nearly as coolio as the conversation/argument/debate-ish we were having at the end of Computers.

Which was basically debating upon who was cooler- Shayan as Superman, or me as Number 3. And who had the cooler song (really, what kind of question is that? Rainbow Monkeys FTW!)

He went on how he could fly to and back from the Sun.
Pshaw, I’ve been flying since I was four! And bro, I AM the sun.
He kind of stopped there. I didn’t even get to say that without me, the sun, he wouldn’t even HAVE any super powers =(

This other dude, in Physics, Rana, thought I was the Green Lantern =O Cuz I was wearing this ring that looked like his, with a silver band, and a green gem. (Aka my Mist Guardian Yamamoto ring. Well, I named it such today, when I tried on Alya’s legit Guardian Yamamoto ring, and it matched the color of the stone in that one perfectly.) It was just SO awesome and totally made my day. I’ve been saying that I am the Green Lantern since I was in third grade. And now someone thought I actually was, even though I was dressed as something totally different. But still- it’s a part of me, and it was recognized, so I feel awesome.

Green is a huuuge contributor to me. It’s  a part of me, it simply is, for so many reasons. Ireland, Green Lantern, the Mint Chutney, Number 3 now maybe?, Shamlocks, clovers, and sooo much more =3

But still, it was fun today ^_^

Lyla went as OceanBird, Mandark/Suzan’s mom from Dexter’s Laboratory. Ammar went as TJ from Recess. I’m so glad I didn’t go as Spanelli after that =P But I didn’t see Ammar wear the hat at ALL, so I felt pretty ripped off =Y

Alya went all out and wore her Batman tights, but that’s all that was cartoony about her outfit =/

Amal stole Alya’s comic hoodie.

Tomorrow’s the day we wear white. And I don’t own anything white except for this one shirt that’s got this rainbow spider web on it, which kind of defeats the purpose of the day being themed white…I’d totally wear that, but it’s packed away in my Summer stuff, so I don’t think I’ll be able to get it out…Then the only other thing is my special special sequin snowflake sweater, but it’s too sacred to wear just cuz of the white theme. So I’m still figuring out what to do for that.

There’s also a Pajama Day, and that is the day I go yelling “Eh, Pajama party, is it?!” to everyone, and hoping beyond hope that someone gets that I’m quoting Mad Eye Moody.

Well, that’s all, I guess. Now to actually out a small theory that I firmly believe in. And all theories/philosophies deserve their own posts. It’s only natural that they be given such importance.

So now I poof.

nope.

HA HA, I deciiiieeeved you!

A Display of my Perfect TimeLord Timing

So today, when I was done with my Math class, I dropped my back at the usual Mount Baggins, and made my way toward the canteen side, where everyone hangs out at some random table. As I rounded the corner, I noticed Waleed and Faiz sitting together with their usual posse and smiling like the funniest and most unpredictable thing ever had just happened, while staring unbelievably at me. Then Faiz calls me over. (Well, that’s a first.) And I walk on over. He then proceeds to torment Waleed by threatening to explaining what just happened. In the end, he didn’t though. Pff, friendship.

But then later on in the day, Waleed was chilling with my peeps and I. That’s when I literally cornered him, and kept pestering him to tell me. He sorta did, but it made no sense, and I couldn’t really hear him (mah homies are loud. They are my homies, after all.) and I thought he said something about a joke when I appeared.

Later on though, I saw Faiz when I got out of Physics a bit early (*gasp!*) and told him that Waleed told me, and what he had sorta said. That’s when Faiz laughed and said that wasn’t the thing at all. He then spilled the beans.

He explained that he was asking Waleed to move to another seat, but Waleed didn’t want to and said, “nah, the view from here is great.” Aaaand that’s when I walked right around the corner, facing him. Which sounds so much more romantic than it was supposed to be. And that’s when Faiz, walking away after telling me this complete tale, sings “Waleed likes Ze” (he actually used my real name, but forget that. Pshaw, I am Wattson. I does what I likes, and I like what I doo!). At which, I replied, “well, he did.” This caught Faiz’s attention, and he fwoop walks around to face me, and with wide eyes goes “He did?”, and me, so coolio, walking away, reply “Yeah, it was really obvious.”

^Rereading that my English died near the end, and I sound kinda like how Alya would narrate a story…

SO I have the best timing ever. And I just made it even worse for Waleed (since Faiz apparently didn’t know.) Oh well. =P

The irony is how I find Faiz cute, and he now thinks Waleed likes me. Woopedeedoh.

Oh Oh OOOOh, random joke-

Why did Tigger look in the toilet?
Cuz he was looking for Pooh!

*laugh hysterically at the funniest joke in the universe. No? Go bake me cookies.*

COOKIES. I am hungry. I need foood. So now I-

*Magical mother appeared, and gave me an oreo. Yay =3 *

Oh yeah, so FOOOOD. Imma poof for the vital deliciousness that be food. Huzzah!

The Great Gatsby- Gatsby’s Green Light

I was thinking about The Great Gatsby…both the book and the movie (although I haven’t read the entire book yet. Still stalled on Chapter VII =P =/ ) when I started to try and literary analyze the green light.

I thought- if I’m going to literary analyze anything, might as well record the thought. Maybe I’ll laugh at it later, for being so off or for thinking something so naive (perhaps that would be possible if the future-me was ever mature. Hah. Now that IS a laugh.). Maybe I’ll nail it on the head. Maybe I’ll just do it for fun. Maybe all three.

At first, I just thought it to represent something like the unattainable, or the desires that are just out of reach. But then, the scene from the movie came in, the MOTION of the green light and this thought just struck me-

It’s like a Lighthouse. It’s necessary. It guides you home, it’s a beacon of hope, it lights the way in darkness, its light is so appealing and beautiful compared to the bleak, pressing darkness, and on top of it all- If you get too close too it, it’ll harm you, rather than help you. You can’t sail your boat too close to it, or your boat will crash and sink.

And all that, all that, is what Daisy is to Gatsby.

We need to go deeper!

I had to, I just did =P I couldn’t possibly resist xD …

ahem. So anyways, I could go deeper to take the light to represent Daisy’s house, not her. But that would also end up involving Tom, and the estate, and it’s location, in comparison to Gatsby’s. Meh, no, that’s TOO deep, and confusing, and not worth getting into. Imma leave it at my initial idea.

I wonder if that made any sense at all… Or if my opinion was totally off ^_^ I wanna ask my seniors who analyzed this book in Literature now, to see where my idea stands to the opinion of Khilji/KillJoy, the Scholar of Literature, and the Great-Grandmother of the Furies.

Literature IS all that. Lyrical Literature keeps you lively and dainty.

#EmphasisthroughAlliteration. Mhmm. It’s a thing. xD

DIY Puffy Cinched Bow

Hyello all you crafting addicts! =D

picture027

Heres a tutorial i found on how to make a cute versatile bow than can be pinned onto purses, spruce up old looking bags, glued onto plain ballet flats/sandals/flip flops/shoes/whatever, brooched onto a shirt/skirt, clipped into your hair, put on a hat…honestly, it can go on just about anything, as all beautiful bows can ❤

picture026

So i originally followed this tutorial: http://www.burdastyle.com/projects/easy-fabric-bows/instructions/1 but found it a little hard to follow, and basically dumped it and did my own stitching thing, that ill be explaining here. ^id still recommend you to go check that out for the pictures atleast though =P or dont, im copy pasting the pictures here. =D

1. Cut out a huge, long rectangle piece. this is gonna be your bow(duh) and itll be about 1/4 or 1/3 of this actual cut out. keep that in mind when you size it. (since it can be literlly any size you want. make it more squarish if you want the wings of the bow to poof a lot more and look more squished n’ cinched.)

2. Fold the piece as indicated below, along its longest side (if that makes sense…)

1-4_large

3. Stitch the two loose ends closed here, here and here (the red crosses).

1-4_large - Copy

Just make sure youre only stitching these two ends of the piece together, and not accidentally catching the other flat part of the piece. I find it easiest to stitch the outside two red crosses as they help hold everything together, but if your in a hurry or lacking string, the job can get done with only one red crossy stitch done in the centre =) Once finished, youll have a cylinder shape if done correctly.

4.  Now, fold as indicated below, bringing the outside ends together, meeting at the centre line (green).

1-4_large - Copy - Copy its gonna then end up looking something like this:

1-5_large if your bow material is silk or soft or something thats wrinkled, id recommend ironing the bow at this point.

5. The next step is a little confusing as this is where we’ll be cinching up the bow to give it that poofy puffy affect.  Cinch it up where the two flaps youve just folded from the previous step meet. Now, i like to take my needle, and make a running stitch, but not pull the needle through. er, sorta like…. im gathering the material only on the needle. this way, if im not happy with the cinching, or think the bows gone wonky, i can pull the needle out and try it again, as many times as i want (i can get quite picky =) ) and then, finally satisfied, i quickly tug on the needle so the cinching stays the same, but the bow is now resting on the bottom of the string (thats obviously knotted at the end, as im sewing with it =P ). Make sure that youre needle is catching ALL the material of the bow, and not just he back half.

1-5_large

6. Now youre bows got its wings and looks all nice and puffy =) good, were almost done, yaaay! =D i like to finish off by immediately after having pushed the bow to the bottom of the string, wrap the string around the middle to secuire it more, and then knot it off. feel free to wrap around as much of the string you have left, even if its a lot. Well be cover that up anyways. This is what youll end up with:

1-6_large although this is what mine looks like without covering up the stitching, as i think the unfinished look also looks cool:

picture030

7. Now, youll need to cut a smaller rectangular piece thatll go around the middle of the bow and cover up your stitching. (You can bead this middle bit, or glue on  some glitter to give youre bow a cute little glitter accent. sadly, i didnt have time to do that so i dont have pics of any of those ideas…id highly recommend trying them though! =) Now, um, i got lazy with this last step and didnt even bother stitching the last middle bit on. i just tied it, then trimmed the extra tailes sticking out at the ends. not sure you can see it too well in this picture, but thats what ive done. i then passed a safety pin into the knot to turn it into a brooch.

picture028

Hope you enjoyed it! I made a bigger one and but it on a headband =)

What i love about this is that its fun, easy, quick, simple, cute, versatile, and can be used in so many ways! Just have fun with it =D

Good luck~
