Pre-Finals Friday Wii Tournament

Today was my statics (NOT statistics, geez) final and right in the morning too. So I crammed a bit, stayed up super late last night and all and stressed about it quite a bit. So when it ended, I very happily walked through the cold to get free pancakes cuz flapjack Friday happens every now and then apparently, and was on my way to ME. Which got cancelled and I ended up back in the lounge munching away on snacks and decided to ditch that last CS lab cuz eh.

Whenever we stole the tree, some girls brought up how we should take the tv back from the guys since they originally stole it from us and a few guys also said if we could move it, we could have it. (It’s giant for an old school one but definitely heavy.)

Anyways, we didn’t move it, but some girls thought it’d be fun to play video games on. I’m not sure who had that inspiring idea, but Safura volunteered to bring her wii and oh my gosh that’s where the fun begins.

Last Friday, she brought her wii and everthing, and it all got set up perfectly well too, but alas, her only remote that was synced to the console died and none of us had any batteries.

So we moved our gaming chill stress reliever to today, a week later. I took Mario Kart with me and two of my remotes.

LET THE GAMES BEGIN.

Most people had finals/tests today too, so we actually lost a lot of the bio 100 kids today during our tournament (and not in a they-fell-off-rainbow-road kinda way), so that wasn’t too cool :/

But I did get to play with Rehan and Rabia and Safura and a few others too for a good hour. It was looooaads of fun and ultra awesome. The guys just stared at us like “damn, the tv works?! AND they’re playing on it??!!” It was pretty dope. (The only thing cooler is how I won every race today. Awww yuuuus. I’m not even that good- I think no one had just played in so long, but then again, I haven’t played in months.)

A great Friday to end the first final ❤ </3 This is a bittersweet moment y’all.

Stealing a Tree;Starting a War

Yes, you read that right.

Last night were the Mosquers held by the MSA, and I was super eager to go, yet because it was late (like 6 to 9 pm kinda late) and Hibah didn’t have permission to stay, I couldn’t go. I heard it was amazing, and emotional, and funny, and everything.

But one prize the sisters collectively walked away with was The Better Side of the Lounge.

So, I suggested that we steal the tree that the brothers are so proud of and move it to the girls’ side as our prize. Everyone laughed and no one really took me seriously, but I was, of course, a hundred percent serious. And then Kholoud walked in at the most perfect time, and she helped me steal the tree and move it to our side.

So I stole a tree this morning. And it was wonderful.

To celebrate this triumph even more, the two of us went to Imanie’s office to borrow some tape so we could label the tree with a sign that said “The Best Side of the Lounge”. It was a proud moment.

I left the lounge for my consecutive classes then. But it only gets better. Because the boys were obviously not thrilled about his developement and stole it back. However, Nooriyah caught them on camera and posted on the MSA fb page ratting them out to us. Kholoud and I started fighting in the comments and so the war began.

(I texted about this to Abdallah, but he couldn’t guess what I’d done. So I finally got ot tell him at like 3:30 pm and he died laughing.)

It was the beginning of my legacy as an MSA freshie xD

However, pretty quickly the great Adil/AQ gave his blessings for us to keep the tree, and the boys backed down saying it was out of respect for him.

Later on in the day, I come to the lounge to see that the tree has been decorated with a hijab and it looked hilariously fabulous. It was gorgeous.

YET HERE I AM AT 6 PM GETTING THIS TEXT- that notifies me the boys have stolen our tree back and left a smaller tree in its place as a replacement, attempting a truce.

Bullshit.

When Kholoud and I heard of this, we got really annoyed and started plotting their demise. But we’d already left campus so we started another fb war.

It is currently ongoing. We’ll see how this ends.

Will we get our beloved tree? Will the boys suddenly decrease in number in the MSA? Only time will tell.

MovieReview- Avalon High (2010)

Alas, yet another Disney film! And I haven’t even gotten started on Frozen yet…

AvalonHighAd_low

So, I saw Avalon High just now. Like just JUST now. It took forever to load online. I couldn’t find the dvd anywhere, but now I wanna get a copy of it, since I liked it that much.

I honestly found out about this movie cuz of Castle, the tv show. Since Alexis, or the actress Molly Quin(n?) is in it, and in this one, and I wikipedia-ed her to see what else she was in…I came across this movie.

I’s surprised I hadn’t already come across this movie about a month before it’s release though. It’s got the Arthurian legends mixed up in it, Disney, and high school. How could I NOT have seen this movie?! It’s so something I would watch!

If only there were more cute/cuter guys in it too =/ Then it’d be complete. But still, it’s cute. I like it. I’m not sure if it qualifies for a TimelessMovie, but it’s still something you should watch if you’re into the whole Arthurian legends. And Merlin. If you like and watch Merlin, this might be a kiddie version of that. What did you expect, it’s Disney.

Spoiler time!

I sooo knew it that Ali/apparently spelled “Allie” (it seems SO weird writing that down and actually talking about someone else…) would be King Arthur, I knew it, I knew it! And the second that teacher with the limp asked wistfully to see the real prophecy in the Bear of the Round Table or whatever the real thing was called, it was right there in the open. Hey, plot twist, he’s the bad guy! Only, it’s not so much of a plot twist since it was just so OBVIOUS. Bleh. The only thing about this movie that didn’t make much sense was the evil-but-really-not-so-evil step brother of Will’s. I mean, he was mean, and bullied, and pranked and hated Will. That’s why they thought he was the actual reincarnation of the Royal Evil Step-brother. But in the midst of them battling the reaaaal actual bad guy, he just gets away with his lame assed “Oh, I was trying to protect Will” excuse. Sure, he was in that particular scene, but what about everywhere else? The just transformed him into a sudden impromptu good guy. It would have just made more sense to label him as the cliched misunderstood teenager, but nooo, they just had to make him a good guy who just happened to have a change of heart. And that change of heart too? It just get’s ignored and skipped over with all the other action packed halabaloo so as to make even LESS sense than before! Psshaw, they really had no idea some literature nerd was going to go into the inner being of this movie now did they? If only they had thought that…

Spoilers and rant now over-

It’s pretty evident what this movie is about, and the plot line just so predictable, especially if you really are acquainted with the Arthurian legends even a wee bit, then you will have no trouble figuring it all out. So just watch and see, is Arthur really the one you think he may be?

*ending all recent posts with questions cuz I’m coolio like that. And I’m running out of sign offs.*
