I was the Best Man AND the Priest

So today, Mateena finally followed up on that engagement ring she gave Alya. (It was this doodh ka dubba top thingie. Basically, this bit of white plastic that you yank off of milk boxes to open their seals.) She sort of got down on one knee, showed Alya a box for the ring, one she had handcrafted herself out of an aluminium coke can, and then pulled out the tab of the can as the ring.

It was one of the single most romantic acts I have ever seen =’)

And Alya was laughing her beanie off, she was just so overcome with this gesture. Mateena didn’t even get through with the question, and Alya was already repeatedly saying yes.

Then, right there and then, with just the three of us paying attention, I acted as both the priest, and the Best Man (cuz no matter what, that will always be my job.) I pronounced them- well, Itachi and Sasuke xD And then declared them the first Married Gay Couple of Our School (that had had a ceremony. Otherwise, the title goes to Shayan and Ammar, but only if Ammar admits that he did in fact elope with Shayan..to this day the poor lad keeps denying the truth so insistently =Y ) and deemed them fit to go on a honeymoon to Japan. With my coolio blessings, course.

So that’s where Alya was just going on about how Japan waits for no one, and if anything they should depart for her tonight. (her is Japan. Duh.)

And that’s also when Mateena made this promise that I’d love to hold her accountable for, but won’t. She said if she went to study in Japan for her Masters, or just made it there for whatever reason, she’d send Alya and I some pocky, the candy. She said even if we hadn’t talked in five years, it would still happen, but I don’t know. Now I want to make some kind of crazy promise like that too, and actually keep it. I’ll figure something out.

And now that I’ve forgotten what else I had to say, if there really was anything at all, I must get to sleep. It is late and I’m already sleepy.

oh right, I remember now! It’s about tomorrow being a themed day at school- Cartoon Day. But I’ll just post about that tomorrow, I hope, after school.
